Tom, Frankie played halfback and you played fullback on the football team. Did you ever line up together?

John, I had been wanting to move back East for a few years, so kept looking around the area. San Francisco was just too expensive to retire there, much as I loved it. My sister and her family and in laws live in Jersey and Westchester, so I found what I was looking for up here.

By the way, when I was about 12 I was mad for cars. So yes, I know what "chopped" means, lake pipes, all that stuff. Helped to understand the lyrics to Beach Boys songs. Never got into the actual cars themselves, just reading car mags.

Pete was indeed a left tackle on the HHS football team. I remember him well as a big, good-natured guy with a good sense of humor, a great person to have for a teammate. He loved what he was doing even as he was still learning the game. I played right tackle on the redshirt squad my junior year, so we were on either side of the line. Pete went on to become a starter senior year. Glad to hear what he did after graduation.
